Field day

It feels like most of the other moms in Isaac's class volunteer weekly, but I was pretty excited to get to spend a morning with them on Field Day.  I had a team of 4 adorable kindergartners, and we had four hours to get through 12 different activities.  I'm happy to say, I didn't lose anyone, had no injuries, and we had lots of fun.  Here are some pics from the day:

Here is my happy team - at the popsicle station - celebrating their tug of war and potato sack victories.  It's really nice to be able to do stuff like this - and I will cherish the excitement Isaac showed in having me there as long as I can get it!   

Kindergarten graduation!

I cannot believe our little man is already old enough to graduate from kindergarten! He really has had a great year - he has learned a ton and made a lot of good buddies, which is really fun to watch (Mr. Popularity has playdates several times a week!)  He had a fantastic teacher, Ms. Adams, who went to a lot of extra effort to make sure he got the extra interventions he needed to catch up with his class.  When we told Isaac he would be switching schools, he was most sad about having to leave Mrs. Adams (he was under the misimpression that she would be his teacher forever!).  You could tell from how much effort she put into graduation that she loves the kids and her job, which is refreshing!  Here are some adorable pictures from the big event:

He was so excited to show off his graduation cap and very excited at the surprise of seeing Aunt Ray-Ray, Uncle Chad, Aunt Alli, Sebastian and Mayensi - lucky boy!

Isaac was the first name announced - it's good to be an Anderson!

Sebastian wanted to be a part of the action - made his way up to the stage and clapped for all the graduates!

The kids sang songs, including This Little Light of Mine, and then gave thank you's to all the classroom volunteers, which took awhile (apparently I'm the only working Mom in Louisville!), and then finally they released the restless graduates who made a beeline for cake.

Cate was so proud of her big brother and very happy to share celebratory cake with him.  She can't wait until its her turn to graduate!

Mother's Day

We had another Mother's Day weekend wedding this year, this time in Boston.  It was a really fun wedding, but I mandated a VERY early return flight on Sunday so we could be back in time to celebrate Mother's Day with my mom, sisters and the kiddos.  It was a bit difficult getting up early and to the airport, but it was worth it.  We went from DIA to Jen's house for a delicious brunch with the whole family where the kids had a blast with their cousins - as always - and barely stopped to give us "we missed you" hugs before jumping back into the mix.

After brunch, we went home to have some QT with the fam.  Bill and the kids made meatballs for dinner and then they helped me make brownies - all of which were delish!

Finally, the kids gave me their homemade gifts, which they were super-proud of, and I LOVED.

Overall, a wonderful Mother's Day.  I'm a lucky woman!
