We had another great year in Winter Park this year. We rented a condo in the middle of town so we could walk to the restaurants as well as the sledding hill. We went up every other weekend, the first few weeks the kids were in lessons on Saturdays and we skied as a family on Sundays. The first couple of weeks were hard work, but they made so much progress this year, it was soon fun. Isaac, true to character, considered himself an expert immediately and charged fearless down the blacks. He definitely falls from time to time, but for the most part is doing great, and even graduated to having poles halfway through the season. He loves skiing moguls and trees, and is a speed demon. One day he and I were skiing along, he convinced me to follow him down a mogul run through the trees and when I hesitated he said, "don't worry mommy, you can do it!" We ended up getting lost in the trees but had so much fun laughing (mostly at the fact that he handled the run better than me), that it was one of my favorite ski days of the whole season. Caitlin also got a lot better, but has a more tentative and cautious personality (like her mama!). She can solidly ski most of the blues, and is determined to get on and off the lifts on her own. She loves skiing, but true to her character, is adamant about being in control of which runs she skis and at what speed. Given their different approaches, we all start a run together and then split up - one racing ahead with Isaac and the other encouraging a happy, meandering Cate - and then meet up again at the bottom. Here are some pictures from the season:

Couldn't resist this one - a reminder of why we should always go before we leave the house! :)
We had some fun visitors over the season, including ski days with Rach, a weekend with Pilar learning to snowboard, a weekend with their cousins, and a weekend with Uncle Jim and Rox.
