House Construction & Father's Day

We're having lots of work done on the house, so it's been a bit chaotic around here. First it was living with the chaos, then we moved into a friend's house (Lusa's family) while they were out of town, then we moved back into the chaos. In the midst of that, Cesi went home to El Salvador for three weeks and her sister-in-law Helen was a wonderful substitute nanny. About a month into it, the work is ...almost done. Thankfully the kids are total troopers and sleep easily wherever we take them. They actually loved hanging out at Lusa's where they had a whole new toy store to play with.

To keep the kids out of trouble amidst the construction, they hung out at Cesi's family's house a lot. Cesi has a niece and nephew who love to play with Isaac and Caitlin, so they have been having a blast and getting spoiled rotten with all the fun toys and the wonderful food her father makes them.

We've still managed to have fun and take cute pictures in the interim. Couldn't resist these of Caitlin playing in the laundry basket, Isaac's baby blues, Caitlin sleeping with a pacifier in her mouth and one in each hand, and Caitlin walking with her new push toy (she's CLOSE!!)

Before the real chaos started, we had a fun father's day weekend. Isaac and Caitlin made Bill cards when they went to daycare at my office. And they also got him an Ipad - not sure which one he covets more ;)

Papa Rich and Mom-Mom came for a combined father's day, birthday celebration. We got a delicious rhubarb pie for Mom-Mom and Isaac helped her blow out the candles and then helped her eat too much pie. Later that night we took Papa Rich out and we all ate too much lobster.

On Sunday, Grandma Bertie and Grandpa and Ray-Ray came toting a delicious father's day brunch which we all devoured right before they worked like dogs to help us move out in anticipation of the start of the construction. I'm sure it wasn't the best father's day they've ever spent, but we couldn't have done it without them.
