Moving!

So we officially decided to stay in Colorado and finally bought a house.  It was a tall order to find a place that would meet the expectations set by our 18 months on the farm with the indoor pool.  However, the many problems that were revealed during those 18 months showed us the value in looking for a better-constructed, more suitable house in a neighborhood.  After an exciting few weeks during which we were under contract on 3 houses, we closed on the new house with 2 weeks to spare before being homeless at the expiration of our lease.  Ultimately, we found a great house that has plenty of room for all of us, and is a quarter mile from one of the best schools in the state.  Here are some pictures of the move:

I didn't realize how great it is to have a basement.  The obnoxiously large projector screen and all the kids toys fit, and they love going down there.  Amazing what a new venue does to increase the fun of old toys!

What better venue for the first home preview of Frozen than our new theatre room?

The kids were VERY excited to get new wall decals and decorate their rooms.  No surprises here: Superheroes and Angry Birds/Star Wars for Isaac and Princesses and Castles for Caitlin

You would think that after getting to run around 10 acres, a .3 acre lot wouldn't impress the kids - but that would be underestimating the power of a swing set! With the first few days of Spring under our belt, the kids can't seem to get enough of playing outside.  They even rediscovered the soccer goal and we had nightly scrimmages while dinner is cooking.  The fire pit is also popular with the promise of smores to come in the near future!

While we still have many boxes to unpack and many things to hang on the walls, we are already feeling comfortable and at home.  It was sad to leave our spacious farm and those gorgeous mountain views, but this is a much better place to raise a family and I think we will be very happy here.
