Once in Florida, Isaac again expressed his preference for warm weather and was super happy to be barefoot. My mom got us a timeshare on the beach in Ft. Lauderdale which had two-bedrooms with amazing views of the ocean from the balconies. We spent quality time with Grandma who generously volunteered to play with Isaac when he woke up at sunrise giving me some extra sleep time. We also had fun with Aunt Alli and Uncle Chad who were busy getting psyched for the big Florida game (Go Gators!!) and Aunt Jen and Uncle Max and Isaac's cousins Jaden, Talia and Arielle. We also spent a lot of time with Isaac's Great Grandparents, which was fun.

Taking advantage of our great location, we spent Friday at the beach, which was a little chilly, but definitely better then DC. Isaac and I went into the ocean briefly in the morning, but spent the majority of time hanging out in the sand and napping under the palm trees next to his cousin Arielle. Bill took him in the pool in the afternoon, but since the sun had gone down, he was cold, and wasn't so into it. Isaac got to meet my friends from Florida during this trip, including Jon Rebecca, and their son Logan; Stefanie; Darrah and her kids Ella and Alec; and Alli, Corey and their kids Phoebe, Parker and Sawyer. It's amazing how much times have changed and each trip home brings introductions to more and more kids!!!

On Saturday we spent time at my Grandparents' where Isaac got to meet their friends, my Mom's friends, and his second cousins. Aunt Jen's family didn't make it because Talia (aka Typhoid Mary because she got everyone sick over Thanksgiving) had a stomach bug. Since Talia felt better (as evidenced by the smiling spaghetti eater pictured below), they joined us for dinner with my Grandparents and the whole family.
Apparently this was enough time to spread the stomach bug, as Bill woke up sick in the middle of the night and was in rough shape to travel back on Sunday (this is him on the floor of the airport pre-boarding). This wouldn't have been so bad (I'm now a pro at getting all Isaac's travel stuff ready and doing the plane thing) except Isaac got sick ALL OVER THE PLACE on the trip back to DC (fun story!!) so we needed his help "cleaning up". Ultimately we got home safely, and it was quite the parental experience!! I took care of both boys on Sunday, but Bill recovered quickly. Isaac was still sick through Monday and we got a little nervous about dehydration, so we made our first sick-baby pediatrician call and scheduled a visit for Tuesday morning. Thankfully he started keeping stuff down overnight on Monday and was on the upswing by then. Unfortunately that's when the "plague" hit me, so Bill had to take the day off to help take care of Isaac while I recovered. To date, my Grandfather and Aunt Alli have also been infected - stay tuned for more!!
