For the most part this past week was uneventful - I'm back at work full-time, which unfortunately means working all day and then for some of the night after Isaac goes to sleep, but in this economy, who can complain? I still get to spend a precious extra few minutes with him during the commute to work/daycare and, on calmer days when I can sneak away, a few minutes feeding him during the afternoons. Regardless of my schedule, I'm still happy with the daycare situation as the wonderful ladies downstairs take great care of Isaac and still often outnumber him by multiples. Whenever I go down there he's smiling in someone's arms, or in the highchair happily chowing down.
In any event, the busy weeks just make us live for the weekends even more. Isaac is growing fast and is pure entertainment with his babbling and attempts to crawl, and fits of laughter at anything Bill does. He also has had some interesting reaction to new foods as we tried to change it up a little --he dry heaved at peas, actually projectile vomited the string beans and broke out in hives from the apricots!! Needless to say, we are going back to the roots for a little while since he was so happy with (and actually digested) the sweet potatoes, apples, pears, avocados and carrots. He did try gnawing on frozen (organic) waffles and tried out the sippy cup (though he's more into chewing it than drinking from it) per Aunt Alli's suggestions. He enjoyed the duck bath once we put water in it, but we have some unresolved "plumbing issues" from the bathroom remodeling job which results in water dripping out of the shower nozzle even when the toggle is just set to bath - and he definitely was not a fan of the water dripping loudly on him and the duck. Something that needs to be resolved soon, because he's on the verge of crawling out of the infant tub...
The busy weeks make us live for the weekends even more. This weekend was particularly fun as we tried to fit lots of stuff into the part of the weekend before Bill had to leave for California. Lots of adventurous new experiences for Isaac - first he tried out the new bike chariot on a trip to Eastern Market and he really seemed to like it.
